​Jordan Smith is a graduate from Longwood University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. While at Longwood, he became involved in Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and is now an alumni member of the music fraternity. With a specialty of trombone 
performance, he served as the Principal Trombone of Longwood’s Wind Symphony and Lead Trombone of Longwood’s Jazz 
Ensemble. He also worked as the director of the Phi Mu Alpha Mu Delta chapter’s Jazz Combo and Choir as well as serving as the director of Longwood’s Jazz Combo. He has performed with the Waterworks Players Theatrical Group as a pit 
musician and as a special guest  performer with the Richmond Symphony for the program“Remembering 1968” . He has performed for several political dignitaries including; former Vice President Joe Biden, Senator Tim Kaine, and current Vice President Mike Pence. Additionally, he has performed in New York City as a member of the “Band of Pride Tribute” commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9/11, and in Atlanta, Georgia at the 2014 Chick-fil-a Bowl game. 

Jordan currently resides in Norfolk, VA working as a private lesson instructor for trombone, euphonium, tuba, trumpet, horn, guitar, bass, piano, and music theory. He composes and arranges music for marching, jazz, concert, and chamber ensembles. Additionally, he works in recording and production for bands and ensembles. He is also a highly active freelance musician. Currently, he is pursuing a career in the Unites States Army as a full time musician.
